In Memory of Mike...

In 2010, the Michael Kunas Memorial Fund was created to honor the memory of our brother and Business Representative who passed suddenly from a massive heart attack.  In Mike’s name, the Fund hosts fundraising events to assist those who have experienced great tragedy or loss in their lives.

The Michael A. Kunas Beneficiary Committee was formed to select recipients of the Fund which is solely sponsored by voluntary donations.  Over the years we’ve been able to aid union families who endured major setbacks or losses.  

Kunas Memorial Fund Assistance Request

If you know individuals who have experienced a great tragedy or loss in their lives and are in need of assistance, the Michael A. Kunas Memorial Fund may be able to help.  To nominate yourself, or someone you know, in need of financial assistance from the Michael A. Kunas Memorial Fund, please fill out the application questionnaire and return it to the IBEW Local 21 Union office.

A Night of Bowling and Family Fun

The Michael A. Kunas Memorial Fund hosted “A Night of Bowling and Family Fun” on at Diversey Bowl in Chicago.  A portion of the proceed assisted our Sister Jacqueline Thomas from the City of Chicago 911 OEMC Center who is suffering from a brain debilitating injury caused by West Nile Virus.

50/50 Raffle - This year’s winner won over $4,500!

Michael was an avid golfer.  Recognizing his love of the game, the Fund hosted The Michael A. Kunas Memorial Fund Golf Outing and Dinner.  A portion of the proceeds were donated to the family of our late union brother Terry Quandt.

We would like to thank all IBEW Local 21 members, retirees, our friends, sponsors and volunteers who helped make the outing a success.  It is because of you the Kunas Fund has been able to assist union families who have experienced great tragedy or loss in their lives.
