MIFA #2 Negotiations Update 3/25/2013
The IBEW MIFA #2 Negotiating Team and Frontier Communications reached a tentative agreement on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 10:30 PM CDT in Downers Grove IL. The four year agreement effective May 6, 2012 features the following:
Wages Increases:
- CBA 19, IBEW Locals 21, 51, & 702 (Service, Construction, and Supply)
- 1.25% effective 3/11/2012 (retroactive)
- 2.00% effective 5/05/2013
- 2.25% effective 5/04/2014
- 2.00% effective 5/03/2015
- CBA 23 IBEW Local 723 (Service, Construction, and Supply)
For non-sales compensated members and BSSC/CSSC Group 2
- 1.25% effective 11/06/2011 (retroactive)
- 1.50% effective 11/04/2012 (retroactive)
- 2.00% effective 5/05/2013
- 2.25% effective 5/04/2014
- 2.00% effective 5/03/2013
- RSSC(CSSC) Currently Group 3 effective upon ratification starting rate, base rate, Silver Achievement Level, and Gold Achievement Level increased by
$ .25. Effective 5/04/2014 Gold Achievement Level increased by $.25 to
$ 3.00 per hour.
- BSSC Currently Group 2 effective upon ratification starting rate, base rate, Silver Achievement Level, and Gold Achievement Level increased by

Health Care:
Frontier will fully insure MIFA #2 members under the NECA/IBEW Family Medical Care Plan (NIFMCP) at the following premium rates for the remainder of 2013 and 2014:
Employer Premium Costs:
Employee Only - $ 560 per month
Employee + child(ren) $ 925 per month
Employee + Spouse $ 989 per month
Family $ 1376 per month
Employee Cost Sharing - Premium Copays as follows:
2013 0% of Employer Premium Costs
2014 3% of Employer Premium Costs
2015 5% of Employer Premium Costs + premium increase
in excess of 7% of 2014 premiums
2016 7% of Employer Premium Costs + premium increase
in excess of 7% of 2015 premiums
- Dental and Vision Premiums are included in Medical Premiums
More details to follow. MIFA # 2 Local Unions will begin to schedule meetings to discuss the tentative agreement this week with ratification to be concluded by Thursday April 18, 2013.
The MIFA # 2 Bargaining Committee is recommending the ratification of the new agreement.
