As we near the middle of the IBEW 21 Days of Giving we would like to remind all of you to please donate to the food drive by bringing your donations to your work location. You can also help fight hunger by donating online by clicking here.

There are almost 49 million Americans struggling with hunger they could be our friends, neighbors or coworkers. By donating just one dollar you can provide six meals for those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Food Hunger Fact

Champaign County’s poverty rate is estimated at 23.4%—higher than Cook County’s 17.8%. The Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is currently set at $23,550 per year for a family of four.

Featured Food Bank -Eastern Illinois Food Bank

One of the Food Banks benefiting from your donations is the Eastern Illinois Food Bank. The Eastern Illinois Foodbank (EIF) serves a 14-county area in Eastern Illinois covering just over 8,000 square miles.

In the past year, the EIF provided 7.3 million pounds of to over 220 agencies and programs feeding the hungry in Eastern Illinois. The agencies and programs that the Eastern Illinois Foodbank supplies feed an average of 55,000 people each month.  Last year, EIF provided over 6,083,333 meals to individuals in communities where we live and work.

You can learn more about the Eastern Illinois Food Bank by clicking here. You can donate to the Eastern Illinois Food bank by clicking here.
