Oct 10, 2014 - It's Important-Can You Make Some Calls?
Updated On: Jun 04, 2015

October 10, 2014

Every election cycle it seems you hear “this is the most important election ever.” It’s true once again this year. Bruce Rauner has stated on numerous occasions that he will fight against workers and the unions that represent them if he is elected. He wants to cut the pay of working people in Illinois, has said union contracts are “corrupt” and wants to eliminate collective bargaining rights for public employees. His plans will affect IBEW Local 21 members.

From now until Election Day we are asking all IBEW Local 21 members to get involved in any way possible. Starting next week, we will be making phone calls from our Union Hall to other IBEW 21 members to make sure they are registered to vote and they understand the various ways they can vote before Election Day.

If you are willing to make calls to your IBEW 21 Sisters and Brothers please contact IBEW 21 Political Education Director Dennis McCafferty at 630-960-4466 ext. 353 or email him dmac@ibew21.org. If you can help in other ways please contact him and he will put you to work.

We can’t let this happen…

Watch what Rauner thinks about you by clicking here.

We have the power to stop him!

Most importantly we need you, and your friends and family to register and get out and vote for the candidates who support working families. In Illinois voting laws have changed making it easier for residents to register and vote up until Election Day. Information on voting in Illinois can be found here.

Right now, grace period voter registration is under way; you can register and vote at the same time. More information on voter registration, absentee and early voting can be found here.
