Updated On: Apr 30, 2015

SIPP and Force Readjustments at AT&T

February 10, 2012-  All AT&T employees who applied for the voluntary SIPP in I&M and C&E have been accepted.  Management should notify those employees today of their acceptance.  Their off payroll date will be next Friday February 17, 2012.

A Union committee has been formed to handle the force readjustment that is now necessary.   The committee has already met today with AT&T management to discuss the backfilling of positions created by the General SIPP.

In C&E, the company will only backfill the DEG openings. Twenty-three DEG technicians took the SIPP in the North and South Suburban and Chicago RCAs.  One tech in Griffith, IN took the SIPP but management will not backfill that position.  There will be preference by RCA, splicers only, by seniority. That preference will begin on Thursday, February 16, 2012.

Prior to then, beginning as early as this evening, current DEG technicians will preference to see if they would like to fill the DEG openings before they are offered to BAU. According to the company they will have until Monday or Tuesday to think about their decision and must preference by close of business on Tuesday February 14, 2012.

The committee will discuss the I&M backfill with the company next week.

We will update you when we have more information.

Solidarity!
