Jan 13, 2012 - Fight Against Right to Work for Less
Updated On: Apr 30, 2015

January 13, 2012- The attacks against hard working Americans continue.   Now is the time to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough.  In Indiana, the rights of our hard working Brothers and Sisters are about to be ripped away.  The Indiana legislature is very close to passing what we like to call Right to Work “For Less” legislation.

Our foes falsely claim the legislation will create jobs.  The facts prove them wrong.  In other States with Right to Work “For Less” legislation jobs were not created in fact pay and benefits for workers decreased.  Working families lost out because of the misguided legislation.

We are asking our Sisters and Brothers working in Indiana to please call your elected representatives and tell them to vote AGAINST the partisan Right to Work legislation because it will has nothing to do with job creation and everything to do with lowering the standards of living of hard working Hoosiers.  To find out how to contact them and make your call please visit Standupforhoosiers.com.

If you do not live in Indiana you too can help.  In Illinois, phone backs have been set-up by the Chicago Federation of Labor (CFL) so you can call Union members in Indiana to show your support for them and urge them to call their lawmakers to oppose the legislation.  The Indiana AFL-CIO also set up phone banks to make calls to defeat the Right to Work “For Less” legislation.

Contact IBEW Local Union 21 Director of Political and Legislative Affairs Dennis McCafferty at: 708 227-0973 if you need help contacting your lawmaker or if you would like to volunteer with phone banking or on other actions.  You can email Dennis now by clicking here.

More information on Right to Work "For Less" legislation  can be found on the the Indiana AFL-CIO webpage or at Standupforhoosiers and by visiting the CFL’s website.
