It’s Time to Vote!
Mar 02, 2016

March 2, 2016

In Illinois we are learning the hard way what happens when we decide not to vote or we vote for candidates who don’t support workers and their union rights.

Early voting has begun in Illinois.  We are asking all IBEW Local 21 members and retirees to vote.

There are many important races where labor friendly candidates are under attack. Their foes are being funded by those who wish to destroy the rights of all workers in Illinois.  We can either let money usher in anti-worker candidates or we can stand up and fight back at the ballot box.

Illinois could become a Right to Work (for less) state if we don’t act. Election Day is March 15th.  Don’t wait until the last minute to vote you can vote by mail or early vote in person until March 14th.

Information on early voting and voting by mail for many counties can be found here.  If your county is not listed please check with your county’s board of elections website.

A list of pro-worker, pro-union, labor endorsed candidates including judges in the Chicagoland area can be found here all other counties can be found here.

We have seen what can happen when we don’t vote or we choose to elect anti-worker candidates.

It is time to fight back.  We now have the opportunity to right a wrong.
